Work Experience/Internship Opportunities

Otapawa station is proud to offer opportunities to overseas students for practical training and internship.

Otapawa Station has currently hosted 11 foreign students over the past 3 years for practical training and work experience.

We offer accommodation and meals, and the opportunity to be part of a large scale sheep and beef production unit.  

It's not all work at Otapawa!  We offer off farm visits to  local tourist attractions and to other properties as well as social outings.

During June we offer a 2-3 day visit  to the National Agricultural Feildays in Hamilton, and the National Beef Expo in Palmerston North and a hands on part in our On Farm Stud Hereford Bull Sale.

Different activities are available at different times of the year. 

  Juhani and Elina from Finland, (the taller ones!)  during their 3 month stay at Otapawa.
