Studbrook  D'artagnion was purchased jointly by Otapawa and Stanfields Bushey Park Hereford Studs at the Dubbo National Australian Poll Hereford Sale, for $47,500.

D'artagnion is a supreme individual sired by the Sydney Royal 2000 Grand Champ and Sire of the Year 2002, "Allendale Musketeer", and out of the full sister to Australian Sire of the Year 2001, "Bowen Qantas.".

Studbrook D'artagnion spent 30 days in quarantine in Melbourne and flew out to New Zealand on August 26, 2002, a total of 24 hours in transit, before reaching Otapawa.

Since his arrival D'artagnion  proved his easy doing ability.  He serviced 45 females at Otapawa before attending the Royal Show at Palmerston North in November 2003 and was judged Supreme Champion Hereford and Grand Champion All breeds Senior Bull.

From the show he then travelled to Stanfields Bushey Park Poll Hereford Stud, Otago, and ran with another 60 females to return to Otapawa early December and finish his busy season tailing 60 females.

D'artagnion was then quarantined at the Tararua Breeding Centre for 60 days and export semen collected.  His next stop was to the Central Districts Feildays in March  where he successfully took out top prize of the All Breeds Meat and Wool Cup 2003, weighing in at 1150kgs.

He was described by the Judges as a "Power House of the Breed".  Since then D'artagnion returned in 2004 and successfully defended his title, winning the Meat and Wool Cup again.    In 2005 his daughter Spot 3053 won the All breeds heifer title, and a son  was placed second in the all breeds yearling bull class.

We  believe D'artagnion to be one of the best Poll Hereford bulls  in the Southern Hemisphere, and look forward to his next crop of progeny this spring.  His first line of rising two year bulls are for sale in our on farm Sale, June7, 2005.

Export semen has been collected and is available now world wide.
